about

I’m Ellie, and I’m a firm believer that stories are everywhere.

I run creative writing and poetry workshops, and am about to start an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Winchester.

I’ve spent my working life in local government, finding ways to connect people to information.

As a writer, I’m interested in human connection. I love writing about the small, specific, often unspoken ways people find (or fail to find) each other.

I’m currently working on two novels.

Forest Oddities is a speculative fiction coming of age novel about finding mystery in everyday life.

Have We Met Before? explores a complicated year of shared flat life between two twentysomethings, who are both looking for connection but are two scared to say it out loud. It asks the question: Can I come into your life, properly, in the light, and will you let me stay?

My undergraduate dissertation was a modern retelling of Dracula, told through the lens of migration and conversion therapy. Much like the original Dracula, it blended letters and diary entries with newspaper clippings and excerpts of official documents.

@literellie on TikTok is my digital home, a place for aesthetic book stacks and rambling reviews.

Stories really are everywhere, if you know how to look.
